What Are The Factors That Need To Be Considered When 3D Printing Is Modeled

1. Wall thickness

This is an important factor that affects the success of 3D printing. 3D printing is made by overlapping layers. If a 3D file does not have a wall thickness, it is all pieces and lines, and the 3D printer can't know how thick the layer is, and it can't be printed. For the 3D printer, there is a general requirement for the wall thickness, which may be a little more conservative than the printing process limit, reducing the risk of damage in transportation and cleaning. The plane is too thin, and printing will be a problem.


2. Size

This is well understood. Even the best 3D printers can't print infinitely large items. Many designers, especially in the field of art, often do not consider printing sizes at the very beginning of the design, which is perplexing for the later 3D printing. Therefore, the earlier the better, the larger the size may involve the disassembly. Too small is likely to lose the printing details.  The size must be within the controllable range of the 3D printer


3, non flow pattern

Errors in the modeling process or some "shortcuts" or "tricks" may result in non flow patterns. This refers to the intersection of one or more sides, rather than the intersection of an individual with the body, which allows the 3D printer to think that the model has a hole, or at least the surface has a problem, and can not be printed.


4, normal

Normals are used to distinguish the inside and outside planes, which is very important for printers. The normals must not be reversed, otherwise the 3D printer will not recognize the boundaries of the models.


5. Cross surface

The cross section will cause the overlapping volume, which will first cause the volume calculation to be inaccurate and calculate the volume. It will also cause the positioning surface to be out of order, so the overlapping surfaces must be combined.


6, minimum gap

The minimum gap is the minimum distance between the two wall thickness, which is related to the physical limit of the 3D printer. If the minimum clearance is less than the printing limit of 3D printing, the two walls will synthesize a wall thickness, which will cause some supports or residues to not come out.
